Family Law

My cases usually involve the division of financial assets, business valuations, spousal maintenance, child support, custody and parenting time. I have a deep understanding of the myriad of personal challenges faced by parents and children in these circumstances. I know the value of compromise and mediation. Civil Cases

I litigate many kinds of civil cases such as invasion of privacy, breach of contract, government contracting, personal injury and covenants-not-to-compete. I represent clients in non-litigation settings involving government agency rulemaking, employment agreements, severance agreements, government licensing and real estate disputes.

No Challenge Is Too Big

I represented two small business owners in a contract dispute and successfully obtained injunctions enjoining illegal actions by the Minnesota Departments of (MNDOT) and Labor and Industry (MDLI) as well as the City of St. Paul. One case resulted in the first award of attorneys fees and expenses against the State of Minnesota under the Minnesota Equal Access to Justice Act. The ruling was affirmed by the Minnesota Court of Appeals.
